MassCEC and DOER request for information for Mass Solar Loan program

July 8, 2015

The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) and the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (DOER) are requesting information from solar stakeholders and the lending community as part of Mass Solar Loan, a program aimed at making it easier for homeowners to purchase solar electric systems.

The $30 million program will provide loan support to lending institutions, encourage lending for residential solar electric projects and helping residents and homeowners realize the benefits of owning solar. Mass Solar Loan will reduce loan interest rates to consumers, and provide credit enhancement to encourage lenders to serve moderate income and low credit score customers.

As part of the development of this program, MassCEC and DOER are soliciting feedback on the draft program manual and financing program agreement.

Please submit responses and any questions to SolarLoan@MassCEC.com by 4 p.m. on Aug. 4. “Request for Information and Feedback – Mass Solar Loan Program” should appear in the email subject line.

Upon receiving and reviewing the responses to this RFI, MassCEC and DOER may follow up to obtain additional feedback.
