After attending, participants will be able to:

  • Identify & correct the most common solar installation errors & safety concerns
  • Evaluate a permit application for compliance with applicable building, fire, and electrical codes
  • Verify that an installation matches the approved plan

During the course, you will review a set of plans to gain experience with a practical review process and visit an installed PV system.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS

Jim Rogers is inspector of wires for the Town of Oak Bluffs, MA and owner of Bay State Inspectional Agency. He is a National Expert in the Solar Plan Review and Inspection, and has taught Solar Permitting courses across the US for the Department of Energy and other organizations.

Rudy Saporite is a Program Manager for the Energy, Sustainability and Resilience Division at Institute of Building and Technology Safety (IBTS), a Not-For-Profit providing services to local, state and federal governments. In his career, Rudy has conducted and overseen thousands of solar inspections throughout the nation. Including the Commonwealth of MA.
